Ronaldo wanted a penalty following a challenge from Dani Alves

Barely 15 minutes were on the clock when the game's first controversy took place. Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to combine with Lucas Vazquez but when the Portuguese looked to latch onto the return ball he was sent tumbling to the turf by Alves.

Or at least so he thought. Referee Felix Brych could scarcely have been better positioned to make a decision on the incident and he waved away all protests.

Ronaldo and Alves were also both involved in a coming together in the game after the former had been flagged offside, reminging many of the battles between the two when they Alves was a Barcelona player.
