Ronaldinho enters football as owner

Ronaldinho's group has decided to become a shareholder in a football team after observing the progress of his former national teammate Ronaldo at Real Valladolid and previously at Cruzeiro.

The ex-player has started with a rather modest but strategically located club. It is Greenville Triumph of the USL League One in the United States, near Atlanta. At the same time and as part of the same team, Ronaldinho also has a presence at Greenville Liberty of the USL Women's W-League.

"We are delighted to welcome Ronaldinho to the Triumph family. His influence on the sport is unparalleled and with his entry into ownership, we want to send a message of the direction we want the club to take. Ronaldinho's involvement will not only allow us to promote the team's name, it will also serve as an inspiration to our supporters and fans," explained team president Joe Erwin.

"The Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty's emphasis on youth development and the pursuit of excellence in the men's professional and women's semi-professional teams are excellent. For me and my group, this is an incredible opportunity to support the growth of football at all ages and levels," explained Ronaldinho.

In addition to the Ronaldinho Group, the club is now owned by Joe Erwin and his wife Gretchen, Cheves, William M. Webster IV, Rick Pennell, Jim Casey, Doug Erwin and Shannon Wilbanks.
