Roma loan Shomurodov to Spezia until end of season

Roma have confirmed the departure of a striker who was getting very little playing time and opportunities under Jose Mourinho. Eldor Shomurodov will leave on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old will not leave Serie A and will play for Spezia until June 2023. Roma explained his situation in a statement shared on social media.

"The striker joined Roma in the summer of 2021 from Genoa. He made his debut on 19th August 2021 in the first leg of the Conference League play-off clash with Trabzonspor. Shomurodov scored six goals in 48 appearances," the Italian club said in the statement.

The Uzbek footballer has only played 151 minutes this season and will be looking for an Italian team that will give him more playing time and prominence.
