Robinson: 'We've got to be positive'

Striker Callum Robinson has insisted that Ireland will go to Denmark without fear, as they have nothing to lose in trying to be positive and win the game. 

Ireland were relegated from Group C of the Nations League after a home defeat for Wales in Cardiff against Denmark, saw the 'Boys in Green' drop to the lower level of the competition. 

After just 1 win in 10 games, and a frustration growing over the lack of creative football being played by Martin O'Neill's side, Robinson has insisted that the team are working hard in order to rectify their form. 

In a press conference ahead of the trip to Denmark, Robinson said: "'We have got to go there and be positive. We know that we have got to get a win no matter what, so we will go there and take the positives from here, a clean sheet, and hopefully we can build on that and be a little bit more creative up top."

He continued: "Yes, of course. The fans come out and come to watch and be entertained - that's why they come. Obviously they feel a little bit disappointed at the moment with us, which is fair enough, but we have got to stick together as a group and hopefully come out a better side after a few more trips here."Monday. 

The match in Copenhagen will mark the fourth meeting of the sides in just over a year. While familiarity with one another may give the sides confidence ahead of the clash, Ireland are yet to beat their rivals in previous meetings, and will look to make amend on

Robinson is keenly aware of the tough task that lies ahead for Ireland away from home. He added: "Denmark have got a lot of quality, as you saw last month. They have got some good players and it's going to be tough one. But the boys are going to stick together and hopefully go out there and get a good result."

The forward concluded: "'It's nice to keep a clean sheet, but now we need something to build on from there. We know we're keeping clean sheets; hopefully now we can be brave and get on the ball and try to create some more chances further up the pitch and we should be okay."
