Rice backs Max Dowman to shine at Arsenal, mentors rising stars

At just 15, Dowman has made a name for himself, becoming the youngest player ever to score in the UEFA Youth League in September. His record-breaking exploits continued when he became the youngest player in Premier League 2 history in December.
Having also represented England under-17s, the talented left-footer was invited to Arsenal's warm-weather training camp in Dubai, where Declan Rice took the opportunity to mentor him.
Rice, who himself had to fight for his place after being released from Chelsea's academy, understands the pressures of youth development. Speaking to the BBC, Rice highlighted the importance of maintaining perspective despite the youngster's rapid rise.
"At 15, there's still a long way to go," he noted. "You can be the best 15-year-old in the country, but that doesn't mean you'll be the best at 18."
The 26-year-old midfielder has formed close bonds with Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, with the hope that his guidance will help them stay grounded and continue to develop.
"I've taken these three under my wing because I've been in that position before, and older players helped me out," he added. "It's all about having a good relationship, and they are really comfortable around me."
