Rice backs 'insane' Kane to reach 100 England goals

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has backed Harry Kane to reach 100 goals for England as he spoke ahead of Monday night's World Cup qualifier against Latvia at Wembley.
The 31-year-old is already England's all-time top goalscorer, equalling Wayne Wayne Rooney's record of 53 goals in the quarter-final defeat to France in the 2022 World Cup, before overtaking him with his 54th goal against Italy on 23 March 2023.
The Three Lions captain is now up to 70 goals in 104 appearances, bagging his latest in Friday's 2-0 win over Albania - Thomas Tuchel's maiden game in charge of the national team.
Speaking on the Bayern Munich striker's recent goal, Rice said: "He's insane. I've seen him train now for so long and play so many games for England. The number of times he’s bailed us out with a goal, or scored a hat-trick, or scored a brace.
"The other night, what was good about that goal for me was how he took the touch, waited for the defender to come across, then created the space. Not a lot of people would think like that and that was just top level."
With 30 goals separating Kane from the century mark, the former West Ham player insisted that the milestone is well within the striker's reach. "He's been doing that at Bayern Munich now, I think he's close to 100 goals in two seasons overall," he said.
“He’s scored 70 for England. He’s an unbelievable guy, a great captain and I’m sure he’s looking at the hundred-mark for England. I think he can get that, for sure," he concluded.
