Remembering Reyes' brace that won Madrid the league

After a dramatic campaign full of twists and turns, Fabio Capello's Real Madrid needed a win against Mallorca on the final day of the 2006-07 La Liga season to be crowned as champions.
Things, however, did not go as planned from the start as Madrid fell behind to a goal from Varela. In the second half, the late José Antonio Reyes, who this Saturday lost his life in a car accident, entered from the bench and turned the game around.
The whole world of football is currently mourning his loss, and he will not be forgotten at Real Madrid, where he spent that particular season on loan. Against Mallorca, he had been on the pitch for just two minutes before he equalised after some fine play from Gonzalo Higuain.
Mahamadou Diarra then added a second to put Madrid ahead, before Reyes scored again to secure the league title for the Spanish giants.
After a loose ball fell to Reyes on the edge of the box, the winger curled home a stunning effort with his left foot that put the icing on the cake for Capello's side.
