Reece James breaks silence on muted celebration

Reece James marked his return to England's starting lineup with a sublime free-kick goal against Latvia, but his muted celebration unexpectedly caught the eye.
The Chelsea captain, making his first start for the Three Lions since September 2022, broke the deadlock with a stunning set-piece that left the Latvian goalkeeper rooted to the spot.
Former England defender Lee Dixon expressed surprise at James' lack of visible emotion, stating on ITV, "If I'd scored a goal like that I'd still be running around Wembley".
However, James subsequently explained his response, saying, "I was surprised it went in... but looking at the replay it was probably tough for the keeper to get there."
The 25-year-old was very measured in front of the media after a difficult period marked by injuries, and admitted: "It's been a long time, I've had a frustrating two and a half years".
England manager Thomas Tuchel, who has already worked with James during his time as Chelsea boss praised the quality of the defender: "I know Reecey, the foot and the quality he has is amazing".
