Recreativo's Juan Delgado to undergo surgery

Juan Delgado will not be able to help his teammates for several months. The Recreativo Huelva forward, who has yet to play a single minute after suffering an injury in pre-season, will have to undergo surgery on the knee injury he has been carrying since the summer.

Delgado was one of Decano's best players in last season's promotion. He was also expected to be one of the best players in the 22-23 season, although his injury in pre-season will keep him out of action for another three to four months.

The surgery will take place on Wednesday in Seville (Spain) and he will begin a long rehabilitation process. He will be a noticeable absentee in his team despite Recreativo's good season.

Delgado scored ten goals in 24 competitive matches despite only starting 13 of them.
