Record breaker: Mbappe scores in seven different competitions for Real Madrid

There is no doubt that Kylian Mbappe is one of the greatest individual talents of this generation, perhaps the greatest. His honours and statistics speak for themselves ever since he won the World Cup at the age of 18. And now he is vying for another World Cup, but a different one: the Club World Cup. A new tournament that has allowed him to continue padding out his record and setting another new milestone, all in his first season as a Real Madrid player.
In his second appearance in the tournament, in the quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund, Mbappe slammed home a goal to make it 3-1 in a crazy spell of added time to score his 44th goal. With that, the Frenchman became the first player to score in seven different competitions in the same season in the club's history.
Mbappé has not failed in any of the competitions he has played in. He made his debut in the famous white shirt on 14 August 2024 in the European Super Cup in Warsaw, in which he made it 2-0 against Atalanta. It would take him four matchdays to score in the league, but he did so on 1 September with a brace against Real Betis and would end up winning the Pichichi Trophy after a long battle with Robert Lewandowski, who he surpassed with 31 goals.
He scored in his first Champions League match, opening the scoring at the Bernabéu against Stuttgart. His European form was not as good as expected and he barely shone in the tie against Manchester City, in which he scored four of his seven goals in the whole competition, which lasted until the quarter-finals against Arsenal. And in the Copa del Rey, although the development of the tournament was for Endrick to show off until the final, Mbappe would score two more goals. The first, in the 5-2 win over Celta in the Round of 16.
The second would come in the final lost against Barça, in which he was a substitute as he was coming back from an ankle injury. And we have two more competitions to highlight that, in addition to a full house in competitions, Kylian Mbappe also has a full house of goals in the four finals he has played. In addition to the European Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, the Frenchman also contributed to winning the Intercontinental Cup against Pachuca (one goal and one assist) and opened the scoring against the eternal rivals in the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, although Flick's side would end up winning 2-5.
This is how Kylian Mbappe's 44 goals are broken down, as he continues to extend his record as the player who has scored the most goals in his debut season with Real Madrid. In the last league 'Clásico' in May, he scored a hat trick that allowed him to surpass Iván Zamorano's 37 goals in the 1992-93 season.
This is how Mbappe meets his PSG again a year after his departure. It was not the best year in collective terms, but individually he has gone from strength to strength, dispelling any doubts. Xabi Alonso will decide whether he plays him or gives Gonzalo another opportunity, but the Frenchman will be keen to prove himself against Luis Enrique.
