Real Madrid set to offer Andriy Lunin new contract

Real Madrid have been very unlucky this season with injuries and one of the most worrying for the Spanish club this season was that of Thibaut Courtois, so 'Los Blancos' decided to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan before the end of the summer transfer window. 

What 'Los Blancos' didn't know is that their first choice goalkeeper was already in their ranks, as Andriy Lunin managed to gain Carlo Ancelotti's trust with good performances and thus make the former Blues goalkeeper be dropped to the bench. 

It is difficult to forget the absence of the once best goalkeeper in the world, but the Ukrainian goalkeeper has managed to win over the 'Madridista' fans with his saves and the truth is that the board of directors are also happy with him. 

In fact, Real Madrid have already prepared a new contract proposal for Lunin, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Ukraine international's contract expires in 2025 and the 'Merengues' definitely want him to stay, even more so now that Courtois has ruptured the internal meniscus in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season. 

However, the transfer market journalist also commented that the decision is in the hands of the Ukrainian goalkeeper, who will have to decide whether to stay at the Spanish club with the possibility of being benched again once the Belgian goalkeeper returns to action or take advantage of his good form to look for a more important role at a top European club.
