Real Madrid's comebacks 'not a fluke', says Luka Modric

'El Clasico' went Real Madrid's way, in a clash that was decided with a Bellingham last-gasp winner which gave the win to Real Madrid by 3-2. Luka Modric spoke to the club's microphones and gave his first impressions of the game:

"Unbelievable. Victory that brings us closer to what we want, it brings us closer to the title. A great night, a great game from the team, we never stopped believing. We were behind twice, but we kept insisting, playing well, pressing and in the end we came back again and again. It's a great night, like many at the Bernabeu," he began.

In addition, Modric said that these kinds of victories are not the result of chance: "Apart from quality, which you have to have, it's an incredible faith and character, because this is not by chance. When you go through a lot of times and the way we do, all this says is that this team has something that doesn't push forward. With a crowd like this one today, everything is easier.

"It's unbelievable. We were very happy, grateful to the crowd. They have created a spectacular atmosphere. We are where we want to be, 11 points up and we have little left to win La Liga," he continued.

Finally, Modric highlighted the moment in which the team arrived: "It has a lot of merit. We've just come from a tough game, 120 minutes with physical and mental exhaustion. But once again we've shown that this team is physically well and mentally, especially playing at home with the fans like today... With them like that everything is easier. We have to keep going until the end".
