Real Madrid goalkeeper Lunin last-minute absentee for Mallorca clash

Real Madrid have added yet another absentee to their already poor squad for the visit of Mallorca on Wednesday. 'Los Blancos', who must beat the Balearics to stay alive in the title race, already had to put together a squad with only 12 first-team players at first, and now Andriy Lunin has been dropped from the list.
This was announced by the 'Merengue' club on Wednesday. The Ukrainian suffered a knock during Tuesday's training session and will not be available for the 36th La Liga matchday. "Andriy Lunin is out of the squad for today's game against Real Mallorca due to a contusion in his right hand that he sustained during yesterday's training session. In his place, Fran Gonzalez will be included in the squad," Real Madrid published on their official channels.
Andriy Lunin has made 12 appearances for Real Madrid this season, conceding 19 goals. His performances have been a step down from the 2023-24 campaign, in which he played a starring role due to injuries to Thibaut Courtois and made 31 appearances.
The Krasnohrad-born goalkeeper's last appearance came in the 4-4 Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad on 1st April.
