Real Madrid close to securing rising star Asencio with long-term contract

Real Madrid and Raul Asencio are in the final stages of negotiations for a new long-term contract, with both sides expressing confidence that an agreement will be reached in the coming weeks.

The 22-year-old defender, who has impressed since stepping up to the first team this season, has made it clear that his sole ambition is to succeed at Real Madrid. 

Although Asencio's current deal expires in 2026, Los Blancos are eager to recognize his accomplishments and prevent future interest from other European teams.

According to reports, Real Madrid is prepared to quadruple Asencio's pay in recognition of his increasing value to the squad. His release clause, which is currently set at 50 million euros, is anticipated to be significantly increased as part of the new agreement.

In a season marred by defensive injuries for Real Madrid, Asencio's breakout has been one of the few bright spots. The youthful Spaniard has been able to replace more seasoned teammates like Alaba and Militao with ease.

Asencio and Real Madrid are reportedly comfortable with the situation because the player's representation has previously turned down offers from other teams in order to focus on securing his future in the Spanish capital.
