Real Madrid captain Modric scores screamer against Girona

Luka Modric sent the Santiago Bernabeu into raptures as he netted a world-class goal to put Real Madrid in front on the stroke of half time against Girona.

Modric showed impeccable skills as he brought down Rodrygo's corner kick with his chest - after it was headed away from the penalty area by Girona defender David Lopez - to volley it from outside of the box.

The Croatian midfielder's rocket went past goalkeeper Gazzinga, whose attempted diving save was not enough to stop the ball from nesting into the top right corner.

Having entered his 40s, Modric is continuously bringing the saying 'ageing like fine wine' to life as he continues to provide moments of brilliance with the 'Blancos' outfit on.
