Real Madrid ask La Liga to play Osasuna on October 29th

Real Madrid have written to La Liga requesting the postponement of their match on the opening day of the 2025-26 season, scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th against Osasuna.
'SER' reports that the letter sent to the league management outlines an agreement between both clubs and the Spanish Federation to play the match on October 29th, the date of the first round of the Copa del Rey, which would require Osasuna to postpone their fixture.
Real Madrid's participation in the Club World Cup knock-out stages has prompted the request from the 'Blancos', supported by the AFE (Spanish Footballers Association), who have called for rest for their players.
For the time being, La Liga has scheduled the match for the first matchday on Tuesday the 19th, but this could change in the coming days. Currently, Xabi Alonso's team's main objective is to win the tournament in the United States.
