Real Madrid agree new deal with Asencio until 2029: reports

Raul Asencio has landed on his feet at Real Madrid's first team. The defender has been fortunate with injuries to players in his position, but he has earned his place in the first team since the first day Carlo Ancelotti decided to put him in the eleven.

Now, in the middle of a break in which he has been called up by the Spanish national team for the first time -although he has not made his debut-, club and player have reached an agreement to renew his contract.

'Marca' reported and Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Real Madrid will renew their centre-back of the future until June 2029, 3 years more than what he has signed at present. In addition, he will be part of the first team full time.

The renewal comes at a time when another centre-back of the Spanish national team, Dean Huijsen, appears as a possible target of the 'Merengues' this summer, as there is little doubt that he will not continue at Bournemouth and will make the leap to the first European level.

Asencio, beyond extending the years of his contract, will see a substantial salary increase. He will earn 6.2 million euros and will reach 9 million euros in the last year, in 2028-29. He will also raise his termination clause, which now stands at 50 million euros.

Few imagined at the beginning of the season the great performance that Asencio is giving in the first team of Real Madrid, but the defender has earned, with his performances, to be in the team the next seasons.
