Rashford to honour idol Henry with No. 14 shirt at Barcelona

Marcus Rashford will be officially presented as a new Barcelona player on Wednesday, 23 July at 6:00 p.m.

The English footballer will arrive on loan from Manchester United to strengthen the Barça attack. According to Sport, Rashford will wear the number “14” shirt, a number with great symbolism at the club.

The striker has decided to pay tribute to his childhood idol, Thierry Henry, who wore the same number at both Arsenal and Barcelona. Among the options considered for Rashford were also “19”, “22” and even “12”, all of which are currently unassigned.

The presentation ceremony will be attended by president Joan Laporta and will be held at the club's facilities. Barca is confident that Rashford will bring speed, goals and experience to Hansi Flick's attacking line-up.
