Rangers to sign Croatian defender Katic imminently

Rangers are close to announcing the latest in a flurry of summer signings under Steven Gerrard in the form of Slaven Belupo defender Nikola Katic.

Rangers are thought to be on the brink of signing their fourth player of the transfer window, after agreeing a fee of around £2 million with Croatian side Slaven Belupo for Katic.

The 21-year-old defender, who has been capped once for his country, will join Rangers should he pass his medical, and will join signing such as Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and on loan Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria.

The attraction of working with the Champions League-winning ex-England captain seems to be great, yet his credentials as a manager remain to be seen.
