Rafinha and Junior to stay at Barca

Barcelona have made some important sales in the transfer market and have also welcomed new faces in the form of Pjanic and Sergiño Dest. The shortlist of possible sales is now getting smaller as the days left until the market shuts become numbered.

Among those chosen to stay by Ronald Koeman are both Rafinha and Junior Firpo. Both players have attracted interest from several big European clubs but negotiations have either been unsuccessful or nonexistent.

As reported by the newspaper 'Marca', Junior Firpo is happy with coach Ronald Koeman and vice-versa, to such an extent that he will stay, trying to work his way into the first team by earing more minutes and continuing to improve among the best players in the world.

Last season, the ex-Betis player made 23 appearances, starting in 15. He scored once and provided two assists.

On the other hand is Rafinha. The player has been used by Barcelona as a bargaining chip and they put a price tag on him of 16 million euros, a figure that clubs such as Leeds United simply weren't willing to meet.

After his loan spell at Celta, Rafinha will also, somewhat surprisingly, stay at the club with the aim to secure a move away in the January transfer window.
