Poor penalty left Peru goalless
Peru were awarded the penalty for a foul in the box, but that was not immediately apparent.
VAR intervened and once the referee had had a second look at the incident, he awarded the penalty. The 15,000 Peru fans in the stadium went wild.
Their joy was short lived however, with Cueva not able to keep his effort down.
Kasper Schmeichel went the wrong way, but the woeful effort from the spot was fired high over the bar, and the score remained 0-0.
