"Playing with Griezmann, Julian... it gives me goosebumps"

Atletico Madrid begins a new stage for the 2025-26 season. One of his signings for the new season is Matteo Ruggeri, who on Sunday gave his first words as a 'Colchonero' player on the official channels of the Spanish side.

"I know that he has come to a team with players of a great level. When I think that I'm going to play with Griezmann, Julian and others... it gives me goosebumps. If I think of all the sacrifices my parents and I have made... it's amazing. I'm proud to play with teammates of this level," the Italian began.

"I am very happy to be here. It's a dream come true to start this adventure with this fantastic team. When I heard about the possibility of coming to Atletico, I was very happy because I didn't expect it at all. I was on cloud nine when I got the news. It didn't take me long to say yes," said the winger.

On the subject of Simeone, Ruggeri praised his new coach to the skies: "I'm very proud to play under Simeone. I think he is one of the best coaches there is. I hope to be ready for Monday. I'm really looking forward to starting this adventure. Now it's a reality, I can't wait to set foot in the stadium and play in front of these fans".

Finally, the Italian, who is nicknamed the 'Tiger' because of his aggressiveness and his character, defined himself as follows. "I am a calm and available person.
