Pep Guardiola backs Savinho to shine at Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has publicly praised Savinho's potential, highlighting his great season at Girona and his impact on the team's Champions League qualification.

The catalan coach said: “Savinho made an incredible season at Girona. He was their best player and brought that team to play in the Champions League.”

Guardiola recalled that, although the young Brazilian had less minutes in some parts of last season, his quality is undisputed and his room for improvement is enormous. “We cannot forget he is so young. He needs to make more decisive actions in the final third,” added Guardiola.

According to Guardiola, the next step for Savinho will be to become a key player in key moments of matches. “The moment he makes this step and says he wants to be the player that is decisive, he will be an extraordinary player,” he said.

Guardiola also expressed his desire for the whole squad to return to the level that saw them win six of the last eight Premier Leagues. “The most important thing is to recover and to find ourselves and what we were,” he claimed.
