'People hate my football but have no idea': Gavi

Gavi is one of those players who generate passion in his team and even hatred in his rivals. From the Spanish national team camp, the Barca midfielder spoke in an interview for ‘Mundo Deportivo’ where he responded to critics and those who place him outside the Camp Nou.
"Many people see me as a competitor, a warrior, or whatever they want to call it. And I am, I'm very competitive. But I also have quality on the ball and many people don't value that. I understand people who hate me because of the way I play, maybe they don't like to see it."
"A lot of people undervalue me on the football side, with the ball. They don't have any idea because of that. But as long as those who know football know how good I am on the ball, I don't care. In the end, it seems that you can't be competitive and have quality, as if they were opposites. I will always be the same. As long as Barcelona fans love me, I don't care about anything else," Gavi said.
He also returns to the Spanish national team one year and seven months after his serious injury in Valladolid against Georgia. "The truth is that I am very happy. It's been a long time since I've been here and I'm very happy to be here with my team-mates again. Hopefully we can win this Nations League."
Another debt Gavi wanted to collect was from the press. He says he has plenty of playing time left at Barca despite rumours that he had asked to leave in search of playing time. "I'm very clear about that. People believe what they read in any media".
"I understand that people might believe it, but it's not going to happen. I'm very calm. My illusion and my mentality is to make my whole career at Barca, it's the club of my life and where I want to succeed. I don't want any other club and I will give everything I have to make it possible’.
