Pedro redeems himself after 'bad week' following Filipe Luis statements

There is nothing better than getting the forgiveness of your fans than with a winning goal. That's how Pedro has to see it, who after the most difficult week since he arrived at Flamengo, scored the winner against Fluminense in the final stretch of the match.
It was a much-needed win to silence all the criticism of the last few days. Filipe Luis, who publicly exposed the striker's attitude, kept him on as a substitute for the decisive stretch.
In the 85th minute, the Flamengo striker scored the winner in the 'Clasico' against Fluminense, a victory that moved them into sole second place and just three points behind leaders Cruzeiro.
"I recognise that I had a week well below my potential, after an episode that affected me, a leak that exposed me, that showed a lack of respect for everything I have done here in five years. That publication by a board member affected me emotionally. What was leaked, unfortunately, ended up affecting my performance," Pedro said in the post-match interview with “Premiere”.
The striker also sent a message: "I didn't need to expose myself the way I did. I think I could have dealt with it internally. But I was able to get the support of my team-mates on a daily basis. The lesson I learned is that I shouldn't have let that leak affect me. I've always given my life for Flamengo and every chance I get to step on the pitch I do it with a lot of love and determination".
