Paris FC land Porto's Otavio in €20m deal

Paris FC have made official the signing of Brazilian centre-back Otavio Ataide, who joins the French club from Porto, for 20 million euros. The agreement between the parties is for 17 million euros directly and another three million euros in variables depending on the player's achievements at the French club.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who hails from Sao Paulo, came through the youth ranks at Flamengo and arrived in Europe in June 2023, when he was loaned out to Portuguese side Famalicao. Half a year later, after his good performance, he was acquired in the winter transfer window by Porto, experts in capturing young talent from South America.
Now, Otavio is heading to one of the big five leagues to join the ambitious project of Paris FC, Paris Saint-Germain's neighbours and newly promoted to Ligue 1. The defender, one of the most promising of his generation, has committed himself to the Parisians until June 2030.
The former Porto player is the fourth signing of the summer transfer window for Paris FC, who have already spent 35 million euros in addition to the 17 million for Otavio (which could be 20), the 9.5 million for Nhoa Sangui, the 7 million for Moses Simon and the 1.5 million for Thibault de Smet.
