OFFICIAL: Toni Kroos announces retirement after Euro 2024

Real Madrid announced on Tuesday morning via an official statement on their social media that midfielder Toni Kroos will hang up his boots at the age of 34 at the end of Euro 2024, meaning the Champions League final on June 1 will be the German's last game in a Real Madrid shirt.
Although the player has enjoyed one of his best seasons at the 'Merengues', his contract was due to expire at the end of the season, as was Luka Modric's, and the future of both iconic midfielders was up in the air. However, as the days have gone by, reports indicate that the Croatian will continue at Los Blancos for another season and the Germany international has already confirmed his future.
"Real Madrid C. F. announces that Toni Kroos has decided to end his career as a professional football player after Euro 2024. Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude and affection to Toni Kroos, a player who is already part of Real Madrid's history and who is one of the great legends of our club and of world football," reads the statement.
In this way, the former Bayern Munich player ends his time at Real Madrid after making 463 official appearances, lifting 22 titles including four Champions League titles and with the possibility of adding one more at Wembley on 1 June.
