OFFICIAL: Sturridge suspended until end of the season for illegal bettng

Sturridge has been banned by the FA for four months after illegal betting.
Sturridge was on everyone's lips after his sudden departure from Trabzonspor. His contract had been terminated and now it all makes sense. The FA have banned him from football and all football related activities until 17th June.
The reason? A while back, the player was banned for six weeks and fined 75,000 pounds for using inside information. He told his brother to bet on him moving to Sevilla in 2018 because he thought that was going to happen.
The ban he was given was not enough for the FA who appealed for a more severe suspension. An independent Appeal Board found the Regulatory Commission to have misapplied the FA's rules. They have also charged him with two further offences. The Appeal Board felt the two week ban was "unduly lenient" and therefore gave him a four month suspension. He also saw his fine doubled to 150,000 pounds.
FIFA later said that his ban will be a global one so he will not be able to play football again until next season.
