European football's governing body revealed that the ban would come into effect if the club qualified for European football in the next two season.
"The club is excluded from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which it would otherwise qualify in the next two (2) seasons," read the statement.
It also said that the reason for the ban was "due to breach of the Settlement Agreement" but neglected to specify further.
FFP was introduced to prevent sides from suffering from financial difficulty as a result of improper management of their finances, with the rules limiting the amount clubs can spend depending on their revenue.
In terms of sanctions, bans are rare, with clubs normally coming to settlements that see them given restrictions on transfers or a limited squad size in European competitions.
