OFFICIAL: Real Madrid confirm Carvajal suffered three ruptures

Dani Carvajal underwent medical examinations in the early hours of Sunday following an injury he sustained the match between Real Madrid and Villarreal on Saturday. The player was involved in a challenge with Yeremi Pino while attempting to clear the ball under pressure.
The Spaniard's reaction immediately gave off the impression that the injury he suffered was serious, as he had to be escorted off the pitch with the help of the medical staff using a stretcher. It was Carvajal himself who revealed the severity of his injury.
“I can confirm it's a serious cruciate ligament injury. I’m gonna have surgery and be sidelined for a few months," he stated with a picture after having visibly cried. Nonetheless, the defender already has his sights on returning to action as soon as possible. "Already looking forward to starting recovery and coming back like a beast”. “Thank you all so much for your messages, I feel very loved," he said at the end of his Instagram post.
Real Madrid released an official statement on Sunday morning, revealing that Carvajal suffered two other fracture alongside a torn ACL. "Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a ruptured external collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteus tendon in his right leg. He will undergo surgery in the coming days," the statement reads.
As a result, Carvajal's injury is worse than initially expected. According to reports from Arancha Rodriguez, the player is set to be out for 8-10 months.
