OFFICIAL: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to Olympique Marseille

A free agent after terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed for two seasons with Olympique Marseille. The 36-year-old Gabonese striker thus makes his return to a club he knows well, having played there in 2023-2024.

During his previous spell, he proved to be one of the few sources of satisfaction in a complicated season for Olympique Marseille.

Despite his 29 goals in 51 matches, the club only finished in 8th place in Ligue 1 after changing coaches three times. The only bright spot: a good run to the Europa League semi-finals.

Aubameyang returns to a club revitalized by Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian coach led the team to a second-place finish in the league, 19 points behind the European champions, Paris.
