OFFICIAL: Pedro joins Lazio from arch-rivals Roma

Pedro Rodriguez has surprised us all. After he didn't feature in Mourinho's plans for the coming season, he decided to make a move to the most controversial of clubs - he will play for Lazio, arch-rivals of his former employers.
Last season Pedro played 40 matches for Roma, 30 of which coming as a starter. Adapting to life well in Italy, his performances were exemplary, and it was expected he would stay at the club for at least one more year, while his contract ran up until 2023.
But it didn't work out that way. Pedro has 'fled' from Mourinho, who he knows well from the Portguese's second spell at Chelsea. The player didn't feature in his new season plans and opted to seek pastures news. The problem for many wasn't necessarily him leaving the club, but rather which side he decided to join.
He will play for Roma's eternal rivals Lazio, the sky blue side of the Italian capital. It is a rivalry that transcends the borders of the Stadio Olimpico, and is charged with ideological undertones.
The 'biancocelesti' are yet to give any more details on the deal, other than that Pedro will wear the number 9 shirt at his new club. He will once again link up with Maurizio Sarri, for whom he featured heavily during his time at Chelsea.
