OFFICIAL: Joao Pedro renews at Watford

Watford confirmed on Friday that Brazilian gem Joao Pedro had renewed his contract. The 20 year-old, who cost four million euros, has renewed until 2028. That prevents other clubs, such as Newcastle, from getting the player.

Finally, Joao Pedro will stay at Watford. Fabrizio Romano announced some weeks ago that Newcastle were about to sign the young Brazilian, but at the last minute, there was a twist and he ended up staying at the Hornets.

Nevertheless, after 10 matches in the Championship which have seen Joao Pedro score twice, Watford managed to renew their young star until 2028.

Joao Pedro's value was 20 million euros until his renewal which has now seen it double. After this renewal, it looks difficult for Newcastle to sign him and it seems unlikely he will end up at the Magpies.

Watford are 10th in the league, nine points off leaders Sheffield United. They have not made the best start, but there is still time for Watford to get promoted.
