Raphael Varane has decided to retire from professional football after sustaining a serious injury in the match against Atalanta. The player will terminate his contract with Como after signing for the club this summer.

After joining Como last summer, Raphael Varane has taken the decision to terminate his contract with the club and bid farewell to professional football. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United defender is thus set to hang up his boots at the age of 31.

The 93-cap Franchman leaves football with four Champions League trophies, a World Cup and three La Liga titles under his belt, and that is just to name a few as the player has 22 titles across his career.
