OFFICIAL: Former Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo joins Albacete

Jesus Vallejo is a new Albacete player. On Monday, the La Mancha club announced the signing of the 28-year-old centre-back, who has signed as a free agent after finishing his contract with Real Madrid, with whom he did not play in the Club World Cup.
The Zaragoza-born player thus put an end to an eight-year contract with Real Madrid, where he was never able to establish himself amid injuries. Now he has moved down a step to play in the second tier with the 'Alba', with whom he has signed a contract until 30 June 2027.
The 'Blanquillos' unveiled Vallejo with great fanfare, highlighting the defender's experience and track record. He has no shortage of titles, of course: he won 13 during his time at Real Madrid, who won two Champions Leagues, a League, a Cup, three World Cups, the Intercontinental Cup...
Vallejo joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2016, after making his debut as an 18-year-old at Real Zaragoza and taking over the captaincy of the team in two seasons where he showed enormous personality. However, in the following eight seasons he was only able to play 35 games in white, an experience that he combined with a promising year at Eintracht Frankfurt, half a season at Wolverhampton Wanderers and three different loan spells at Granada.
Now that this period is over, the defender will try to rediscover football and feel important again in a historic club like Albacete. Jesus Vallejo is now under the orders of Alberto Gonzalez after becoming the sixth signing after Valverde, Antonio Puertas, Diego Mariño, Jonathan Gomez and Fran Gamez.
