OFFICIAL: Fermin Lopez extends his Barcelona contract until 2029

Fermin Lopez will remain linked with Barcelona for another five years. On Thursday, the Catalans made official the midfielder's renewal until 30 June 2029, reinforcing his position in the squad after growing exponentially in recent months.

The agreement includes an increase in the player's salary and a rise in his buyout clause to 500 million euros, a sheikh-proof shield that will force those who want to sign the midfielder to negotiate. This is his second renewal in just one year.

The last one was in August 2023. Then, the player was tied to Barcelona until 2027 and his freedom was set at 400 million euros. Now it is two more seasons that bind him to the club, with whom he had been negotiating for several weeks.

It was not until Thursday morning, taking advantage of the calm at the club, that Fermin's agent went to sign his contract.
