OFFICIAL: Ferdinand signs for Scottish club

The defender has not had the same level of career as his more famous brother Rio, but was an established Premier League player for West Ham, Sunderland and QPR.

After his stint in the top flight of English football, he spent time in the Turkish league and most recently spent two seasons at League One side Southend United, where he played 71 times in two seasons.

He has now joined up with the Scottish Premiership side until the end of the season.

St Mirren sit 10th in the Scottish league table, but managed to hold defending champions St Mirren to a goaless draw.
