OFFICIAL: Estevao to join Chelsea next summer

Chelsea on Saturday via their social media and official website announced that they have agreed a deal with Brazilian football gem Estevao Willian. 

"Chelsea Football Club has agreed a deal to sign teenage forward Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, with the Brazilian to officially join Chelsea next summer," the Chelsea statement said.

"The 17-year-old has already built a strong reputation in South America as one of the most exciting talents around due to his skilful dribbling and electric pace, causing defences plenty of problems in his breakout season in senior football," added the statement.

The young player has made 10 appearances in the Brazilian league for Palmeiras, contributing two goals and two assists, as well as scoring in the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil.

Estevao has also played for his national team at youth level and next year will join fellow Brazilians Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington and Angelo Gabriel with the Blues.

The player has signed for nine seasons and that will tie him to the club until 2033 and he will join the club in the summer of 2025, once he comes of age.

Chelsea are reported to have paid a reported 34 million euros as a fixed fee, plus an extra 27 million euros in variable payments of varying amounts.
