OFFICIAL: Barcelona pocket €6m as Alex Valle completes permanent move to Como

The Catalan left-back had already spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Como, where he made 15 Serie A appearances under the guidance of former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, 12 of them as a starter.
Valle had also spent the first part of the season on loan at Celtic, where he featured in 19 matches—starting 10—and provided five assists. Despite still being under contract with Barcelona until 2026, the club confirmed on Tuesday that he is no longer tied to the Catalan outfit.
Born in Badalona, the 21-year-old becomes Como's latest acquisition after an impressive string of loan spells. Valle came through Barcelona's youth system and made his senior debut with Barca Atletic in the 2021/22 season.
His breakthrough, however, came during the following campaign, 2022/23, when he earned regular minutes with the B team. In the January transfer window of that season, Valle joined Andorra—then playing in Spain's second tier—on loan.
He continued his development at Levante during the 2023/24 season, again on loan, where he impressed with 29 appearances, including 26 starts. That summer, he was also included in Barcelona's pre-season tour of the United States.
Hoping to convince new manager Hansi Flick upon his return to the club, Valle trained with the first team once again. However, the German coach opted to retain Gerard Martin as back-up to Alejandro Balde on the left flank, leading to Valle's eventual loan move to Celtic, and later to Como in January.
Despite never making an official first-team appearance for Barcelona, his transfer now provides the club with a valuable financial boost as they look to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
