"Of course I hear the whistles, but I'm focused on doing my job"

Real Madrid's continuity in the Champions League is at stake at the Metropolitano. 'Los Blancos' take on Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their round of 16 tie, to which they arrive with the upper hand after a 2-1 win in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In the run-up to this second European Madrid derby in little more than a few hours, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni appeared before the media to review the 'Merengue' team's form ahead of the clash. The Frenchman made it clear that he sees his team ready to face a titanic clash for them.
“We are all ready. It will be a very complicated match, but I think we are in a great moment to fight for titles this year. They are going to play a very intense duel in attack, but we know what we have to do in midfield and defence. Tomorrow we're not going for a draw or anything. We want to win and we will give everything to take this game,” he said.
Tchouameni was questioned in the run-up to the game about the criticism he received a few weeks ago, with the Bernabeu's whistles taking center stage. The Frenchman, far from being downcast, understood the fans' criticism as part of the game.
“We have an incredible squad. We support each other a lot. It's logical that you want to talk about these things, it's your job, but we are and we go together all the time to win games and that everything goes well. When each game starts, the most important thing for me is to stay focused. Of course you hear the whistles on the pitch, but every game is a story. I have to do my job on the pitch and that's the most important thing,” said the former Monaco player.
