Odegaard urges Arsenal to 'stick together' after painful Champions League exit

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard said that the elimination against Paris Saint-Germain is “painful” because they had chances, but they were not enough to qualify for the final. The Gunners were eliminated in the semifinals by a PSG side that won both the first leg and the second leg and will contest their second Champions League final.

“We started the game very well. We had the initiative and had a lot of chances, but it wasn't enough. All credit to their goalkeeper, who made several incredible saves. It wasn't enough and it's painful,” he assured on ‘TNT Sports’.

“We had the ball and controlled the game, but we weren't convincing enough in the boxes and, there, we lost it. It's painful because we wanted to win, the goal was the Premier League and the Champions League. It is a big disappointment for us, but we have to stick together, learn the lesson, learn from the pain and use it to come back stronger," Odegaard told reporters. 

"We have to learn from this because we did a lot of things right, but it was not enough. These games are decided in front of goal and, there, we have to be better," he concluded.
