Neves and Cancelo moved to tears by Jota homage

The Club World Cup quarter-finals began with a deeply moving and heart-wrenching scene. Understandably, the tournament held a minute's silence to honour the memory of Diogo Jota and his brother, who tragically passed away in a car accident on Thursday.

On the pitch, the players of Fluminense and Al-Hilal SFC paid their respects, but two players in the Saudi side were particularly affected: Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo.

Both Neves and Cancelo were close friends with Diogo Jota and had shared many moments with the Portugal national team. Emotions ran high, and both players, still reeling from the loss of their friend, broke down in tears as they were comforted by their teammates.

Tears streamed down the faces of both footballers, who were profoundly moved as the image of the late Liverpool player and his brother was shown on the stadium screen. At the end of the tribute, the crowd gave a thunderous ovation in honour of Diogo.
