Morata aims for Metropolitano 'final' against Athletic

Atlético Madrid's Alvaro Morata was sidelined against Alaves due to an indisposition that kept him off the pitch until Wednesday, when he reappeared with the group in training. Everything seems to indicate that he could be available for Cholo in the next few games.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the medication against his acute trigeminal neuralgia is working, so his return to the squad seems more than likely. Several experts say that this disease affects the nerve that controls the muscles that control chewing and the sensitivity of the face and this produces a pain that is difficult to bear for human beings. 

Simeone's men have six 'finals' ahead of them in La Liga to secure their place in the next Champions League. The first of these, and perhaps the most important, is against Athletic Club at the Metropolitano on the next league matchday. Morata would be a good addition to the squad despite not having been on top form in recent games.

The Spanish striker is not going through his best moment, he has only scored 6 goals so far in 2024 and 3 of them were in the same match. After his bad match against Borussia Dortmund, he was singled out for missing a one-on-one against Kobel with 0-0 on the scoreboard and he has the opportunity to redeem himself in front of his fans in the duel against the 'lions'.
