Moore mistake helps Liverpool progress

This was seen by some as a potential banana skin for 'the Reds'. Many Premier League teams have fallen at this stage, but Klopp's men weren't one of them.

It seemed like MK Dons would be going in at the break with a well-earned draw. In the 41st minute, Milner had a pop at goal that seemed a routine stop for Stuart Moore in the MK Dons net. However, the shot-stopper let the ball slip through his hands and end up in the back of the net.

Harvey Elliot made his Liverpool debut, and certainly impressed. He had a few chances to score, however, Liverpool's youngest ever starter never got his name on the scoresheet.

With 20 minutes left, Milner was again involved in the Liverpool goal. He put in a lovely delivery, and Hoever rose above everyone else to put Liverpool two up. 

MK Dons never gave up though. For a spell, MK Dons were no strangers to the Liverpool box. Bowery had a shot saved at point-blank range, and the Dons also had a shot cleared off the line. They huffed and puffed but never managed to breach Kelleher's goal. Liverpool fans will be heading back north the happier of the two, but MK Dons' fans will also take spirit from the fact that they managed to match the European champions for large parts of the game.
