Milner slotted a penalty home just before the break

Liverpool had enjoyed the majority of the balll in the first half of the game, but had failed to put the ball in to the back of the net.
Just before half-time Liverpool were again asking questions of the Crystal Palace defence and the ball came to Salah.
He tried to turn and get a shot on goal, but went down from a challenge from Mamadou Sakho, causing the home team to protest to the referee because apparent of lack of contact between defender and attacker.
However, Michael Oliver remained convinced that it was a foul, and liverpool captain James Milner stepped up to slot the ball in to the right hand corner cooly to give his side the lead.
