Militao starts 2022 badly after mistake gives Getafe 1-0 lead

La Liga got underway in 2022 with an interesting match between Getafe and Real Madrid. The game started with the intensity you would expect in a Madrid derby. However, the deadlock was broken inside the first 10 minutes.

Eder Militao, who has been one of the best players of the season following the departures of Varane and Sergio Ramos, gifted the first goal of the match to Enes Unal.

Sandro had lost the ball just outside the Madrid area after Toni Kroos dispossessed him. The ball ended up at the feet of the Brazilian centre-back whom inexplicably, took an eternity on the edge of his own box and Enes Unal picked his pocket. He was left with just Courtois to beat and he made no mistake to send the home crowd ecstatic.
