Milan boss Fonseca on Leao: "He scored 5 goals? He should aim for 20"

As Milan visit Atalanta at the Gewiss on Friday night, Paulo Fonseca has been handed the opportunity to throw his side back into the title fight by hurting a direct rival. Although Milan enjoying a positive run in all competitions, the Portuguese manager insisted that the showdown against the Bergamo club will be far from easy.
"It is never a good moment to go up against Atalanta. We are doing well, we are improving and the team is confident. We know it will be challenging, Atalanta are so strong, but we are ready to play against them, " Fonseca told reporters during his press conference on Thursday.
The head coach also emphasised the significance of being solid in defence. "It's an important match, but not decisive. The team doesn't need this match to understand at what point we are at. That said, it would certainly give us further confidence. Defensively, it will be a nice test because Atalanta create a lot of chances in attack, they are strong collectively," he added.
Fonseca concluded as he spoke about Rafael Leao's positive period. "Leao can still improve a lot. In his recent matches, he has done well also from a defensive perspective. But, he should try to be more ambitious. He score five goals? He should be aiming to score twenty," he said.
