McKenna ban appealed by Aberdeen

The defender was issued a notice of complaint from the Scottish FA for alleged ''serious foul play'' after a high tackle on Edouard during Celtic's 1-0 win over his side.

Aberdeen issued a statement that read: "It came as a total shock to learn that Scott has been cited for an incident where the referee deemed there was no offence committed and we have subsequently lodged an appeal."

Brendan Rodgers described the tackle that caused the French striker ot leave the field as "very reckless".

 If the appeal is not successful then Mckenna will miss the fixtures against St Mirren and league leaders Hearts.
