McCann cleared following sexual abuse allegations

McCann, 57, was found not guilty at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, being cleared of four counts of indecent assault. 

He had also been found not guilty of two other counts of the same charge earlier in the week. 

McCann had been accused of grooming and abusing the young boy between 1987 and 1990, and allegedly first carried out the abuse on a trip abroad. 

In interviews with the police, McCann claimed he had "innocently" offered to take the teenager on a skiing holiday as the family had been going through a tough time. 

"It never crossed my mind. I was like a friend of the family. I took a bit of pity, they looked like they needed help."
