Mbappe takes PSG's captaincy off Kimpembe

PSG thumped Pays de Cassel in the French Cup: they won 7-0. Kylian Mbappe shone with five goals and he did so with the captain's armband on. That surprised some people. 

Kimpembe was. as vice-captain, the player to wear the armband when Marquinhos was not on the pitch. After the game, PSG coach Christophe Galtier explained that Mbappe had been appointed the number two. The problem was that the central defender only found out when he saw that Mbappe was wearing the armband. 

On social media, Kimpembe made it clear that he did not know anything about the captaincy. "In the last few hours, I've heard and read a lot of things about me. Therefore, I'd like to make things clear so that false information does not keep being spread about me. I was not informed about this decision, this is completelty false."

That said, the defender said that he will obey whatever PSG say. "Said this, I'll always respect the club's decisions, he added.

Kimpembe would have certainly preferred to find out in a different manner. He did not like it and he made it clear on social media. Yet another controversy at the club.
